Habit Stack Your Workout

Habit stacking is an increasingly popular approach to building a new habit. By coupling two activities together, one enjoyed and one necessary, leaders make great strides in instilling a new habit.

One habit stack taking firm hold with the best leaders is exercise learning. In this habit stacking, leaders listen to podcasts while they workout. Exercise learning is not likely a fad. The quality of podcasts continues to accelerate as more and more top leaders and performers agree to be interviewed by ever-more-skillful questioners.

Not long ago, when leaders were directed to reading lists to deepen their understanding and knowledge of a leadership discipline, it was a rare exception to include a video or podcast in the catalog. Not anymore. When suggesting a reading program, leaders are pointed to as many podcasts as articles and books.

There are thousands of podcast interviews on a myriad of topics that would benefit leaders. This makes the time ripe to engage in exercise learning if you don’t already. Finding quality podcasts to listen to while exercising is a relatively easy task. Make today the time for a learning workout.
